Jesse's gone inside out / someone hush her quiet mouth / charity's friend, she was, I know / fill her cup and leave her alone // distance fails but it keeps her alive / thinks that evil's on her side / gets rid of things that don't matter / she used to let me cut her hair // Jesse's gone inside out / she used to let me cut her hair
Alan's Notes:
one of the first songs we wrote. had a whole bunch of lyrics but narrowed them down to this, teaching me a good lesson; most of what you write is crap, but if you only use the tolerable parts, it's not so bad.
Personal Thoughts:
I forgot how fond this record is of this subterranean gothic guitar tone. It works to a great eerie effect over here.
Live:
This song saw regular-ish appearences on setlists through the 90s, before it stopped being played after 1999.
